課程概述

1. TO BE AWARE OF THE IDEA OF HYDROLOGIC CYCLE QUALITATIVELY AND QUANTITATIVELY.
2. TO LEARN THE INFILTRATION AND WATER FLOW IN VADOSE ZONE MECHANISM AND ANALYZING TECHNIQUES.
3. TO UNDERSTAND THE RUNOFF PRODUCING MECHANISM AND THE PARAMETERIZED ANALYSIS SKILLS.
4. TO COMPREHEND THE BLACK-BOX RAINFALL-RUNOFF ANALYSIS OF WATERSHEDS UNDER LINEAR-SYSTEM ASSUMPTION.
5. TO BE FAMILIAR WITH THE FLOOD ROUTING MODEL AND ITS APPLICATIONS TO CALCULATE DISCHARGES AND STAGES IN CHANNELS.
6. TO HAVE A HANDLE ON HYDROGEOLOGY PARAMETERS AND GROUNDWATER FLOW.
7. TO BECOME SKILLED AT DEALING HYDROLOGIC DATA WITH STATISTICS AND FREQUENCY ANALYSIS.

Studies the physical processes associated with the components of the hydrologic cycle.
Discusses measurement and collection of data. Explores model conceptualization and data analysis for quantification of water flow for design purposes.
Emphasizes analysis procedures for surface and ground water hydrology useful for design of urban facilities.
Discusses and applies hydrologic design methods to engineering projects.
Emphasizes watershed management concepts.

課程目標
The overall objective of this course is to familiarize students with basic concepts of hydrologic processes and analyses. By the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:
Identify, define, understand, and explain the role of the fundamental components of the hydrologic cycle;
Apply statistic methods, frequency analysis, unit hydrograph and flow routing methods to solve related engineering problems and projects.
